Consumer Friend provides the debt rehabilitation and Debt Review industry with specialised business support and compelling BPO solutions. Key focus areas of the Consumer Friend offering include cash flow optimisation for clients and ensuring statutory compliance with the National Credit Act – achieved through unique collections and debtor management strategies.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
As early as 2000, the firm’s 3 directors recognised that South Africa’s credit landscape was on the brink of fundamental change. A balance was required between legal collections and consumer rights – and the National Credit Act provided exactly that.
In 2005, when the National Credit Act was signed into law, the directors were ahead of the curve. Consumer Friend had been launched as a separate business – offering comprehensive and compelling debt review and rehabilitation solutions to credit providers. At this early stage, several of the firm’s traditional legal collection clients had already joined the Consumer Friend stable, entrusting their debt review matters to the newly formed BPO entity.
THE REST, AS THEY SAY, IS HISTORY
Consumer Friend has consistently remained at the forefront of South Africa’s Debt Review industry. This includes addressing parliament on key Debt Review issues and being commissioned to compile working papers for the portfolio committees of Justice, Finance and Trade & Industry.
Today, we are proud to serve 23 BPO clients, ranging from blue-chip retailers to formal banking institutions. Consumer Friend continues to lead in product innovation and service development within an ever-evolving industry while at the same time, ensuring the highest levels of compliance with the timelines and requirements of the National Credit Act.
The Consumer Friend executives and management team pride themselves on being immersed culturally into the debt review industry, and our CEO currently represents the retail industry nationally on the Credit Industry Forum – and serves in an advisory capacity on various sub-committees, established by the National Credit Regulator.
